# Managing Agents

After creating a custom agent, you can edit its configuration or delete it at any time from the Agent Selector.

***

#### Editing an Agent

1. Open the **Agent Selector**
2. Select the custom agent you want to modify
3. Click the **Edit (pencil) icon**

You can update any of the following:

* Base model
* Agent name and tagline
* System instructions (background, role, expertise, behavior)
* Attached resources and knowledge bases

Once done, click **Update** to save your changes. Updates apply immediately to all future chats using that agent.

{% hint style="info" %}
Review and refine your agent's instructions periodically — especially after workflows evolve, new documents are added to a knowledge base, or output quality starts drifting from expectations.
{% endhint %}

***

#### Deleting an Agent

1. Open the **Edit** panel for the agent
2. Select **Delete Agent**

This permanently removes the agent from your workspace. This action cannot be undone.

{% hint style="info" %}
Deleting an agent does not delete any attached knowledge bases or uploaded files. Those remain in your workspace and can be attached to other agents.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.qolaba.ai/chatbot/agents/managing-agents.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
